Training
Monadnock® is a well-respected and internationally known name in law enforcement education, through the Monadnock® Police Training Council. The Council's certification standards and procedures, as set forth in its curricula, are amply structured to meet contemporary legal challenges and tactical/survival needs of criminal justice professionals. The Council's expandable baton techniques can be quickly mastered and performed under stress, including the baton-aided, subject-control holds called "armlocks." The Council's certification curricula are fully researched in terms of tactical, medical and legal consequences resulting from police intervention. A cadre of competent expert witnesses, who can render an opinion concerning the reasonable use of force as defined by contemporary law enforcement standards and procedures, stand behind all Council Certification programs.
The Council's Philosophy
Human rights are a critical concern at Monadnock®, as they also are at BAE Systems®, The Armor Training Academy, and with you. Nowhere is this more obvious than in Monadnock's® certification philosophy of "Protect & Restrain." Over thirty years ago, Monadnock®, and today the Council, put "Protect & Restrain" to work in the Basic Course certification curricula for the Control Device and PR-24® Side-Handle Batons. The same is true for the Basic and Advanced certification curricula for Monadnock® Expandable Batons (MEB)
Today, agency trainers from around the world teach Monadnock's® "Protect & Restrain" certification curricula in their respective agencies (or assisting at other law enforcement departments). This is a source of great pride for us, at Monadnock®, as well as evidence for you to evaluate both our success and longevity as an international educational resource.
Three MPTC certification programs are available to criminal justice agencies: Monadnock Expandable Baton (MEB), PR-24 and Control Device and Monadnock Defensive Tactics System (MDTS).
